Tom's mother, father, and brother are in the living room. Tom introduces her. "Mom, Dad, this is my new friend, Sarah. Sarah, this is my family." Tom's mother smiles and says, "Welcome, Sarah! It is nice to meet you." Tom's father shakes her hand and says, "Hello, Sarah. I am Tom's father." His brother says, "Hi." Sarah feels comfortable with Tom's family. They are all very friendly. They sit and talk about Tom's day and their hobbies.
