The Bedroom: Essential English Vocabulary for Your Personal Space

Your bedroom is your personal space. In this story, you will learn essential bedroom vocabulary to talk about everything from your personal belongings to your bedroom furniture.

Suggestions to build fluency:

Read and listen to the text two or three times. Then read the text aloud a few times, until you feel comfortable with the pronunciation. After that, play the audio sentence by sentence, pause it, and repeat what you hear. Try to imitate the rhythm and the intonation of the audio.

Text 4 - The Bedroom

Listen to the text.

Laura and Mike have a new house, and now it is time to choose their bedroom. They find the perfect room for them. It has a big window that looks out onto the garden. They put a big, comfortable bed in the center of the room, with two small tables on each side. Laura also puts a big wardrobe against the wall for all her clothes. Mike puts a chair and a lamp next to the window so he can read. They are happy with their new bedroom. It is a quiet and private space just for them. It is a nice room to relax in after a long day of working.
