Decorating the Walls: English for Home Decor

Ready to make your new place feel like home? This story is all about decorating the walls. You'll learn essential home decor vocabulary and phrases for hanging pictures, so you can describe your decorating projects.

Text 3 - Decorating the Walls

Laura and Mike are in their new living room. The walls are a little boring because they are white. They decide to decorate them with some pictures and paintings. Laura has a big box with her family photos. She takes them out and decides which ones to hang on the wall. Mike has some beautiful paintings of nature. They find a good place for each one. Laura puts a picture of the children on a small table. Mike hangs the paintings on the wall with a hammer and a nail. The room looks much better now. It is more colorful and personal. The walls tell a story about their family and their memories. The house is starting to feel like their home.
